Environment Perception Test
How users feel upon entering the two scenes
All users had the sense that they were in an old, quaint town. They couldn’t tell which country they were in, but had the sense of authenticity.
Expectancy Test
What they expect to do once they enter the Market scene
- Two users focussed on the Market and wanted to move directly to the area.
- One user wanted to explore the area first, including looking closer at the box, and then explore the market.
Free Exploration Test
See how the users would actually interact with the scene and the instructions (in Spanish)
- All users moved directly to the Market and started picking up objects. None of them focussed on the box first and instructions.
- All were delighted that they could read the object’s name upon picking it up.
- Nobody knew what to do after they picked up the food until they noticed the box with instructions above it.
Performance test
- All users were able to put the correct foods in the box.
- All users enjoyed the process of grabbing objects and bringing them to the box. So much so that they started throwing objects and dropping them in the box regardless if they were part of the list.
Actions Taken:
- Spawn the user right in front of the box so the box and its UI is the first point of attention.
- Include a voice recording explaining what the user needs to do and which foods they should grab. This also aids pronunciation.
- Add a “ding” when they add the correct object to the box, and add a barrier prohibiting them from adding the wrong food to the box.
